The latest Toyota Yaris cars in stock
For a second car or supermarket runabout, the used Toyota Yaris is a fine option. It scores on bombproof reliability, solid cabin and blistering economy, boosted now with a stop-start engine. At launch in 2006, three engines were available - a 1.0-litre, 1.3 and 1.4 diesel. The 1.0 litre works well around town, but the 1.3 or 1.33 not only races from 0-62mph in 11.7 seconds but glides beautifully along at 70mph. The diesel can hit 60mph in 10.4 seconds and offers 60mpg+. Keep an eye out for the 131bhp SR 1.8, a warm hatch built for 18 months from April 2007 that dashes from 0-60 in 8.9 seconds. At entry-level, the T2 gives you dual front airbags, ISOFIX mountings, enhanced ABS, height-adjustable front seats, electric mirrors and front windows, and fold-flat seats. On the T3, you get curtain and driver's knee airbags, reach-adjustable steering wheel, air-con and leather-trimmed steering wheel. The 2008 TR, based on the T3, adds funky alloys and chrome boot trim. Top of the range T-Spirit gets climate control and alloys.
