The latest Mini Convertible cars in stock
The Mini Hatch was an unsurprising hit when it was introduced in 2000 – made by BMW and based on the styling of Sir Alec Issigonis’s 1959 classic, it could hardly fail. It has gone on to be a strong seller for BMW, a small car that’s cool, sporty and refined. A second generation model was launched in 2006, and a third was born in 2014. As well as the normal hard-top version, there’s also a convertible – or should we say, a range of convertibles – to choose from, which the manufacturer introduced in 2004. After manually unlocking the roof, it retracts electronically in about 15 seconds, an action that can be performed at up to 20 mph, which is handy if the rain suddenly starts to pour when you’re stuck in crawling traffic. Also, you can have it fully convertible or stopped half way for a sunshine roof. With engines and trim, there are plenty of options, from the 211 horse power John Cooper Works version to the 1.6 litre diesel, which can stretch your mileage to 70 mpg. All models have a strengthened body compared to the non-convertible, which partly accounts for its stiff, sporty, agile ride. Whether new or second hand, Mini convertibles are guaranteed to turn heads when you’re cruising the city streets or taking it out into the countryside for a run.
