About Mazda 6
A real looker, with a sporty, premium appearance, the used Mazda 6 is a fine family car that offers great value. Revised in 2008 in saloon, hatch and estate form, the Mazda 6 provides tons of room for both passengers and luggage. But it's the used Mazda 6's engines that take centre-stage, with the 2.2-litre diesel one of the best available. The saloon has fewer engines than the hatch, but the variants share 147bhp 2.0-litre and 170bhp 2.5-litre petrol engines and a brilliant 2.2 diesel in either 163bhp or 185bhp that return over 50mpg.
On a practical level, 519 litres of boot space in the saloon and 510 in the hatch (1700 with the rear seats down) make the used Mazda 6 great for carrying loads. The saloon and hatch both come with cool equipment like multi-function steering wheel and Bluetooth compatibility. Watch out for the SL model, with full leather, Bose audio system and parking sensors. The Mazda 6 scored maximum marks in Euro NCAP's tougher crash tests that came in in 2009.
