About Hyundai
The Hyundai car maker first began as a simple small vehicle repair shop in 1947, the brainchild of the son of a peasant farmer who began his business in Seoul Korea. From these humble beginnings Hyundai is now the fifth largest motor company in the world and has the distinction of owning and operating the world’s largest assembly plant. In addition the company employs over 4000, researchers in four international centres to co-ordinate their activities, all of this from one man, a small repair shop and an insistence on delivering quality that still endures today.
The Hyundai range of cars covers a complete spectrum, from the small but efficient i10 up to the i800 which is a genuine 8 seat family transport. Qashqai chasing iX35 has a lot to offer in the competitive crossover section and is the replacement for the Hyundai off roader the Tuscan. The range of engines is impressive and includes a 2.0 litre turbo diesel, a 1.7 litre diesel and the usual 1.6 and 2.0 litre petrol models. It is available in either two or four wheel drive versions.
The Santa Fe is a smart SUV that when first introduced was a revelation, with 5 and 7 seat configurations available across the range, and even more storage space, the Santa Fe is perfect for families of all sizes. It features a “torque on demand” or with lock in four wheel drive system, ideal for winter weather driving.
The Hyundai i800 is a people carrier in every respect, ideal for larger families or as airport transport; this will take 8 people in comfort and still have massive luggage space. There is also a privacy glass, with air conditioning to the front and rear cabins each with individual controls. The i800 is available with fuel efficient 2.5 litre diesel engine.
