About Honda Civic
Build quality, looks and a massive boot are just some of the qualities of the used Honda Civic. It's a racy-looking small family car with predictably high Honda build quality and an exciting drive. The entry-level 1.4 petrol offers good performance, but the best engine is probably the 1.8, a responsive unit with more pulling power than George Clooney and a 0-60 time of 8.9 seconds. The 2.2-litre diesel is even faster and delivers 55mpg to boot. Speaking of which, at 485 litres, the Civic's boot is bigger than some South American countries and comes with split-level floor, too.
Steering is light and responsive and nimble around town, while suspension is best suited to motorway cruising. Petrol engines are smooth and quiet, while emissions are low, which should appeal to company car drivers. There are plenty of goodies beyond the entry-level S, with the SE offering six airbags, climate and stability controls, electric windows and alloys. If you want sporty, try the Si or the boy racer's favourite, the Type R.
