About Daihatsu
Formed in 1951 as a successor to Hatsudoki, Daihatsu began importing their cars into Europe in the 1960s when they developed their first four-wheeled car.
Today, Daihatsu have mainly been famous for their microcars due to Japan's strict dimensions rules for city cars such as the 1976 Cuore and the Leeza. Daihatsu's first off-roader was the the Fourtrak, released in 1985; and the Sportrak in 1990.
Now part of Toyota, Daihatsu’s UK range are still smaller than the average car, such as the Copen or the Sirion
