The latest Volkswagen Tiguan cars in stock

Launched in 2007, the stunning Tiguan is Volkswagen’s first compact crossover vehicle, aimed at busy families with active lifestyles. Basically a sports utility vehicle with a choice of two or four wheel drive, it’s great for zipping around the city, it loves the motorway and it performs admirably off-road too. It fits four/five comfortably, there’s lots of room for the kids (and the paraphernalia that comes with them!) and it can boast an impressive five star Euro NCAP crash test rating so it’s one of the safest baby 4x4’s on the market. The rear doors slide for easy access and unrestricted parking and the 60/40 split and fold rear seats slide forwards and back so you can increase the boot space when you need it. Perfect for towing caravans or trailers, a handy integrated towbar is also fitted and the Escape model can pull up to 2,500kg, which is impressive for a vehicle this size. The elevated driving position gives an excellent view of the road ahead and you can adjust the seat and steering height and reach for the most comfortable arrangement. The entry-level twin charged 1.4-litre TSI is more than capable and economical. For motorway miles opt for a diesel – the popular 2.0 litre TDI is available in 138bhp or 168bhp making light work of longer journeys. Bluemotion technology is available on later models, improving fuel efficiency and offering much lower CO2 emissions. Choose from the S, Match, Sport and Escape trims or there’s a sporty R Line variant if you want to spend a little more. The basic S spec is a two-wheel drive model that’s equipped with air conditioning, alloy wheels, electric windows and a CD player that’s MP3 compatible. Upgrade to the Match for climate control, ParkAssist (yes, it really does help you parallel park!), and Bluetooth integration, or choose the Sport model for automatic wipers, sports suspension and sports seating. The Escape spec is the one to go for if you’re after a true off-roader; it’s restyled and protected for the more challenging terrain and comes with the 4Motion technology which senses loss of traction and increases power to get you moving.
