The latest Volkswagen Fox cars in stock
The Fox is Volkswagen’s cheapest offering that’s ideal for driving around town. Dinky and easy to park, you’ll get the best of the legendary VW engineering wrapped up in a cute, well-built, easy to drive package. Introduced in 2005 as a replacement for the Lupo, this three-door supermini is super-cheap to run and great fun to drive. There are two engines – a nippy 1.2-litre that’s perfect for zipping around the city and returns a decent 46 mpg, or the more powerful 1.4-litre that performs well on the motorway and is quicker off the mark. Inside, the colourful striped interior upholstery gives it a funky fresh feel that will appeal to the younger end of the market. Rear passengers have ample leg and head room considering its size and you’ll have no problem transporting four adults in comfort. The boot is ample for transporting luggage and shopping and the 50/50 split and slide rear seats are ideal for times when you need the extra storage space. All models come with an immobiliser, speed sensitive power-assisted steering, an adjustable steering wheel and a CD stereo with six speakers. Upgrade to the Urban Fox for colour-coded bumpers and mirrors, front electric windows and remote central locking. The Fox was awarded an acceptable four stars in the Euro NCAP crash test and also comes with driver and passenger airbags, anti-lock brakes and Isofix child seat anchor points. Some models also feature optional side airbags and an electronic stability programme (ESP). The Fox is a great choice for new drivers or those looking for a cheap to run second car. While it’s not aimed at families, you’ll have no problem transporting smaller children comfortably. Running costs are impressively low; insurance won’t break the bank as some models are classified as a group 1 and with emissions of just 139 g/km, road tax will cost you just £110 per year. It’s a great way to sample what Volkswagen has to offer without over-stretching your budget.
