The latest Mazda MX-5 cars in stock
Back in 1990, the great British tradition of open-top sports motoring was revived - by a Japanese car maker. Three generations on, owning a used Mazda MX-5 has only gained in appeal and the latest, 2005, incarnation of this classic two-seater is the best yet. It's now bang up to date, with a smooth ride, modern interior and hardtop option. Choose from two engines: a 126bhp 1.8-litre and a 160bhp 2.0-litre. The latter reaches 62mph in 7.9 , while the 1.8 manages it in 9.4. The larger-engined car comes with a slick five- or six-speed gearbox on the Sport model. Kit levels on your used Mazda MX-5 are good, with the 1.8-litre featuring electric windows and four-speaker CD, while the 2.0-litre adds side airbags, and traction and stability control. Both models have options packs that include cloth roofs, 16-inch alloys and leather steering wheel. The cabin has plenty cubby holes and four drinks holders, but the boot will cope only with a weekend bag and a jaunt down to St Tropez. What could be better?
