Fiat Punto''s engine ''is a brilliant piece of engineering''

Motorists interested in purchasing a used Fiat Punto have been advised that the car comes with a great engine.

According to a review of the vehicle on the Used Car Expert website, the version of the Punto introduced in 2003 benefits from an "excellent piece of engineering" in the form of its common rail direct injection engine.

The review explained that this 1.3 litre engine allows the used Fiat Punto to average more than 60 miles to the gallon, as well as having very low levels of exhaust emissions.

It went on to add that the Punto is equipped with a good level of kit.

"All models come with electric front windows, central locking, twin airbags, a height adjustable driver''s seat and steering wheel, and Fiat''s dual mode power steering which allows a lighter setting for urban driving," the review explained.

The used Fiat Punto has also been commended by What Car? magazine, with particular praise given to the spacious cabin.

It explained there is plenty of head and legroom for both drivers and passengers, meaning three people can fit into the rear seats in comfort.
