Record Toyota Prius sales recorded in February
Sales of the Toyota Prius hit record levels last month, used car buyers have been told.
A total of 538 Toyota Prius vehicles were sold across the country – far higher than the previous record in February 2008 when 237 of the cars were sold in the UK.
Since it was first launched in 1997, more than 1.6 million Toyota Prius cars have been sold across the globe, with the third-generation model of the auto being shortlisted for World Car of the Year 2010 recently.
According to a review of the vehicle by Used Car Expert, motorists who opt for a Toyota Prius will be doing their bit for the future of the planet thanks to its combination of petrol and electric power lowering its carbon emission levels.
Used car buyers were reassured that the auto''s green credentials have not come at the cost of the motoring experience.
"In the Prius, Toyota has succeeded in developing an eco-friendly car which does not demand any sacrifices in driving pleasure," the review stated, noting the vehicle''s good cornering, smooth ride and silent engines.
